The effects of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 resulted in a significant reduction in passenger traffic starting in 2020, to such an extent that several airports such as Durango have not reached the air traffic figures that were recorded throughout the 2019; neither in the profits inside the airport.
Regarding air traffic, 2019 has been the best year so far for the Durango airport with a total of 527 thousand four passengers from January to December and by 2020 it dropped drastically to 271 thousand 231 passengers, a reduction for the year of the pandemic of 48.5 percent.
