A 93-year old pie and mash factory permanently closed its doors in Walthamstow and will soon be replaced by a Japanese restaurant which is set to open in October. The East End favourite L Manze was based on High Street and closed in March this year following a temporary closure during the pandemic.

The owner 跨際數位行銷 mobile01 跨際數位行銷 跨際數位行銷有限公司 Tim Nicholls previously told Eater London that there were “no customers down there anymore” and parking issues in Walthamstow made things difficult. Also a staff from the Braintree branch of L Manze previously told MyLondon that "business is really slow".

Tim also has the three Manze restaurants but none are in London and the Manze on Chapel Market in Islington closed down in 2017. If the food is what locals and pie-loving customers want then they will have to travel to Essex and Herefordshire where the three Manze remains.
